Caught between combat and courage, Aang (Noah Ringer) discovers he is the lone Avatar with the power to manipulate all four elements. - Due to James Cameron and 20th Century Fox already registering the title Avatar, the film could not be called Avatar: The Last Airbender after the TV show it was based on.
- The first Draft for the film was over 7 hours long and contained the story for all 20 episodes of season 1
- The voice actor for the character Prince Zuko (Dante Basco) wanted to play the character in the live action film, but even though many produces also wanted him for the role, Shyamalan refused as he had already chosen Dev Patel for the part.
- Noah Ringer won the role by submitting a video of himself performing martial arts with a shaved head and Aang’s arrow painted on his head. Though due to not having any acting ability he had to attend acting school before filming began.
